Grandad Pat’s Treasure Trove – Christmas Board

I just adore Christmas time. There is something so special about that time of the year, when the decorations go up, work winds down and everybody gets into holiday mode. I have vivid memories of Christmas as a child and the excitement that came with it. My brother and I would often share a room on Christmas Eve, spying out the window and seeing if we could spot Santa flying over us. It truely was magical and now I have a little girl of my own, I am so excited to create lasting memories for her – and this gorgeous Christmas board is the perfect start.

Christmas is a time of traditions, and many of them are focused on Santa arriving and delivering presents. While I want my kids to know about the bigger picture of Christmas and what is about, I also want some special traditions we can share together each and every year. I remember the excitement of getting ready for bed on Christmas Eve. You feel like you will never be able to get to sleep and keep thinking about how great the next day is going to be. I love the idea of getting the girls ready for bed, by preparing for their visitor that night.

I love all things wooden and this treat board is just gorgeous. I know as they get older the girls are going to have lots of fun picking out treats to go on it (and I know a certain someone who will enjoy eating them later on that night) and preparing the perfect gift to leave behind for Santa and his Reindeer as they go off to bed. I am one of those parents who hopes they will believe for ever and ever. I know this won’t happen, so for the short time they do, I want it to be as magical as possible.
